Saimer Court Shopping Centre in Ballyshannon has been sold for €500,000.

The flagship shopping centre, on Ballyshannon's Main Street, went under the hammer this afternoon at an Allsops Auction at the RDS.

There are two sitting tenants in the centre, with total current rent reserved of€30,894.44 per annum, according to Allsops. In addition, there are eleven vacant retail units and three empty office units.

Allsops was quoting a reserve range of €470,000 - €530,000 for the three storey block going into the auction.

The centre was put on the market in October 2014, on the instructions of receiver Tom Kavanagh of Deloitte, with an asking price in the region of €650,000.

The anchor store, a Mace supermarket, closed in May 2013.
