Full house expected for Croke Park quarter-finals

Donegal GAA officials are bracing themselves for a huge demand for tickets for Saturday’s eagerly awaited All-Ireland quarter-final meeting of Donegal and Dublin in Croke Park.

The game, which forms a mouth-watering double bill with the clash of Ulster champions Tyrone, and Mayo, is expected to be a sell-out.

Croke Park has a capacity of 82,300.

Tickets for the two games, which went on sale to the public at selected SuperValu and Centra outlets and online at 9am on Sunday morning, were snapped up in a very short time.

The only tickets left are available from clubs through county boards.

Donegal clubs had until 12 noon today (Tuesday) to have their ticket orders in with the Donegal County Board.

County officials are currently totting up their numbers and once processed they will forward their order to Croke Park, who will then decide on the Donegal allocation.

Donegal has in the region of 1,300 season ticket holders which will be included in the county’s allocation. Season ticket holders are guaranteed tickets.

The total number of season ticket holders in the four competing counties this weekend is believed to be in the region of 9,000.

However, the GAA do not divulge the allocations that are distributed to SuperValu and Centra or those tickets that have been sold online.
