Two of Donegal’s best-loved pubs and hotels have made the shortlist in ‘The Great Carvery of the Year’ competition.
The shortlist includes 23 pubs and hotels from around the country. Donegal is represented by the Silver Tassie Hotel in Letterkenny and Harvey’s Point, Donegal town.
Hotels and pubs were chosen as a result of a public vote. The competition is now at the final stage.
Over the next five weeks, the finalists will receive a visit from the team of mystery shoppers to find out who serves the best carvery in the chosen pubs and hotels in each region.
All venues are in with a chance of being crowned the Great Carvery Pub of the Year and the Great Carvery Hotel of the Year at this year’s Grand Final in Dublin in October.
Speaking about the competition, Business Development Chef at Unilever Food Solutions, Mark McCarthy said: “After seeing this year’s shortlist, it is obvious that the public has once again chosen some of the country’s finest carveries and I’m looking forward to seeing which of these great establishments come out on top.”
