Two men arrested and charged in relation to a serious fire incident in an apartment block car park last Thursday are due to appear in Letterkenny District Court this morning.
Owen McFadden, 40, from Falcarragh and 30-year-old Paul McGinley from Gortahork both appeared in separate special court sittings last Friday and Saturday after their arrests and were remanded to appear in Letterkenny today.
Both men have been charged with ten charges including criminal damage and burglary.
Nine cars were destroyed in the fire that occurred in the car park at Rosemount Lane, just off Letterkenny’s main street, in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Friday’s court sitting heard that the cost of the damage could reach half a million euro.
Several local businesses also suffered serious smoke damage as a result of the blaze.
The men are due to appear before Judge Paul Kelly shortly.
