A community activist in Bundoran has condemned an attack on a priest's house in Fermanagh at the weekend.

Fr Joe McVeigh, a 70 year old priest, lived in Bundoran when he was a curate at Garrison. On Sunday night, he returned to his home Tattygar House in Lisbellaw to find that the windows on the ground floor had been smashed.

Fr McVeigh told Q Radio that he's not sure whether he'll stay at the house, because he has a history of heart problems.

The PNSI have confirmed that they are treating the incident, which took placed between 4pm and 8pm, as "a hate crime".

They ask anyone with information to contact the PSNI in Enniskillen.

Sinn Féin's Michael McMahon told the Democrat that he "totally condemns any attack on the property of a priest."
