Locals concerned about a proposed wind turbine in Gweedore are holding a public meeting this Wednesday night at 8pm in the Ionad Naomh Padraig, Dore.
Lir Energy Ltd, a company based in Letterfrack, Co. Galway, have applied to Donegal County Council to erect a single wind turbine at the Udaras Industrial site in Bunbeg, Gweedore.
The company hosted a public meeting in the An Chúirt Hotel, Gweedore about a fortnight ago.
A local group, Stad an Tuirbín Gaoithe Working Group, are opposed to the plan and have organised this Wednesday night's meeting in Dore.
In a statement, they said they are "opposed to this turbine on the basis of its scale and size". The turbine height is 85m, rotor diameter os 77m, and blade tip height is 123.5m.
