Saturday's weather for Donegal

Most areas dry today, Saturday, with a mix of cloudy and sunny spells. However, passing showers may occur in places - mainly in the east. Highest temperatures 7 to 10 degrees, in moderate northerly breezes.

Tonight will be dry, with long clear spells. Very cold with a widespread frost and a risk of icy patches. Minimum temperatures minus 2 to plus 2 degrees. Some mist patches in near calm.

A weather advisory status yellow alert has been issued for the entire country for Sunday night. Met Éireann say a band of heavy rain in southern counties on Sunday night, will extend northwards overnight and during Monday, turning wintry with falls of sleet and snow in some areas.

On Monday there will be a huge variation nationwide in air temperatures. It will be very cold across the northern half of the country, with max. temperatures of 1 to 4 Celsius, but mild in comparison in the southern half, with values of 5 to 10 degrees. Very windy, with fresh to strong easterly winds, veering southerly with the clearance and easing. 

Rain, sleet and snow on Monday
Monday night will be very cold in the north and northwest, with outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow clearing. Minima here 1 to 3 degrees, with frost. Less cold elsewhere, with clear spells and scattered showers, the showers mainly in the east and southeast.
