It has been confirmed that Jason Hanlon’s much-needed operation is to take place this autumn.
Earlier this summer, Elizabeth Hanlon bravely mounted a public campaign to garner support for her 26-year-old son who direly needs surgery due to the acute pain he’s experiencing from scoliosis.
The operation had previously been put back indefinitely much to the family's consternation.
Yesterday, the family received a letter from the chief operations officer in Tallaght hospital confirming Jason's operation.
An emotional Elizabeth Hanlon thanked all those who supported and helped the family in any way towards this result.
"I can't express the emotions in the house today and last night," she said.
She said that if Jason could speak that he would thank everyone who helped himself.
