The Donegal Association Dublin, the representative group for the Donegal diaspora in Dublin are hosting their annual banquet tonight in the capital where Mr Black has been joined by family, friends and hundreds of guests at what is regarded as one of the biggest Donegal social events of the year. There are an estimated 400 people in attendance.
“I receive this incredible award as a very ordinary man, raised in a very ordinary home, surrounded by an extraordinary community of people. My adventure life has taken me globally to some of the most remote yet beautiful and iconic locations in the world and to stand there as a very proud Donegal ambassador is truly an honour,” Mr Black stated in January when he was confirmed as the 2018 recipient.
