Donegal County Council to grit main roads this evening

There have been heavy falls of snow today in some parts of the country with Limerick, Dublin, Tipperary, Kildare, Westmeath and Meath among the counties worst hit.

The North West has so far escaped without any snowfall but temperatures have dropped considerably and Donegal County Council have announced that gritters will treat a number of routes across the county from 8pm on Sunday evening.

Met Eireann is forecasting a dry and clear night in the North West but it will be cold with a widespread frost and some ice. Temperatures will be between -1 to 2 degrees.
