Diane Ní Chanainn well known singer and performer from Cloich Cheann Fhaola launches the new 50 / 50 Draw from Ionad a'Phobail Mhachaire Rabhartaigh
Last Monday saw the launch of a new 50/0 Draw for the Magheroarty Community Centre, Ionad a’Phobail Mhachaire Rabhartaigh in the parish of Gort a’Choirce.
This centre at present has classes, courses and provides a venue for groups young and old to come together for recreational and educational activities.
As the needs of the community broaden and life commitments increase Ionad a’Phobail Mhachaire Rabhartaigh would like to develop the centre further to support the area as much as possible.
With a high rate of unemployment and lack of public services the local community are pulling together in introducing this 50/50 Draw where 50% of the sales will return to the community through the services of the community centre.
In this rural isolated location with its windswept mountains and beaches the local people have always pulled together to get by, ‘Ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann na daoine’.
The well-known local singer and performer Diane Ní Chanainn who has recently released her new album ‘Idir Muir agus Sliabh’, officially launched the draw and wished everyone good luck with it for the future.
The first draw for the first winner of the new Magheroarty 50/50 will take place on the evening of Thursday, April 11.
Tickets can be bought from all shops and businesses in Gortahork parish, so don’t miss out and good luck!
