Bob Dylan's music will be celebrated in Moville next month, with various gigs at pubs in the town.
Musical legend Bob Dylan announced a record five Irish gigs in his latest 'Rough and Rowdy Ways' world tour, with shows planned for Dublin, Belfast and Killarney this coming November.
The tickets sold out in just minutes last Friday morning, leaving many Donegal fans of the 84-year-old songwriting icon deeply disappointed.
The surge in sales came on the back of a major boost to Dylan’s enduring popularity, following the release earlier this year of Hollywood biopic ‘A Complete Unknown’ starring Timothee Chalamet.
However, there’s renewed hope for Dylan fans who missed out: 2025 is Not Dark Yet, to quote one of his best songs from the late 1990s.
The answer, my friend, is goin’ to Moville!
The annual DylanFest takes place in Moville from August 22-24, when the seaside town will be abuzz with the sound of Bob, from Blowin' in the Wind and Mr Tambourine Man to All Along the Watchtower and Like a Rolling Stone – all by the banks of Lough Foyle.

Festival organsier Gerry McLaughlin has been running the DylanFest for almost two full decades, dating back to the very first event in 2007. Since then, he has welcomed scores of performers from around the world and thousands of fans to Moville.
And Gerry expects 2025 to be another memorable year too.
“We are expecting a bumper year this year, with Dylan’s increasing popularity and the tickets running out so quickly. We are looking forward to meeting so many old friends among the regular visitors and making some new Dylan friends too.”
“We get visitors from all over the world. Everyone is welcome,” he added.
