The Inishowen Choir of Ages is coming to an end and is marking the occasion with a fundraising farewell concert.

The multi-generational choir is composed of singers aged from five to over 80.

Open to all singing levels and all ages, the choir has been singing together for more than four years with between 50 and 70 members and includes a full band of musicians.

The choir, which has been running regular events, is led by Bernie Doherty, a community musician who regularly works on creative projects in the community from songwriting to music and art for wellbeing projects.

The choir’s final concert will take place on Sunday, September 7 at OTB at O'Flaherty’s on Buncrana’s Main Street at 7pm.

The event will be raising funds for the Buncrana First Responders and will feature special guests, local band Revival, Bri Carr and Anne Biddie.

“What started as a 10-week singing for wellbeing project before Covid, ran ever since with a huge choir and full band performing several times a year,” Ms Doherty said.

“As we down tools, we'd like to thank the community for the huge support and of course, all our former and current members as well as the band who never failed to show up hail, rain or shine.”
