An investigation is underway after a driver was observed carrying out dangerous and illegal manoeuvres in Newtowncunningham.

Two cars performed drifting and 360 moves at Bohullion Lower, beside a petrol station on the main Letterkenny to Bridgend road on Saturday night, September 13th, around 11:30pm. 

A video of the incident widely shared on social media shows one of the cars performing a 360 in the middle of the road before drifting across on the wrong side of the road. While a second car drove on the wrong side of the road before performing a 360 stunt beside the petrol station

Gardai who were on patrol in the area “observed a motorist carrying out dangerous and illegal manoeuvres,”  but the driver fled the scene after Gardai gave chase.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána confirmed that “investigations are ongoing” into the incident after “the vehicle failed to remain at the scene.”
