Inishowen textile firm supplies custom-made shirts for long-running ITV soap Emmerdale

What do the late Irish singing legend Sinead O’Connor, former Unionist leader Rev Ian Paisley, and Hollywood actors Aidan Quinn and Connie Nielson have in common?

They’ve all proudly worn custom-designed shirts and garments, crafted by the trusted Moville Clothing & Uniforms label.

And now the Inishowen textile firm, which also supplied the aprons for the BBC’s popular Ready Steady Cook programme, can add another famous client to its burgeoning books.

The ITV television show Emmerdale becomes the latest high-profile addition to the list at Moville Clothing & Uniforms.

The soap, which has been running since 1972 and regularly attracts more than four million viewers per episode, commissioned the Inishowen company to create specialised clergy garments for Emmerdale’s resident vicar.

“We were delighted recently to have been contacted by the ITV Costume Designer for Emmerdale,” explains Joe Doherty, of Moville Clothing & Uniforms.

“They ordered quite a few of our Moville custom-styled clergy garments. These purchases were for the vicar on the show, Charles Anderson.”

“This new client was the latest addition to our growing list of famous clients that have discovered our new website, movilleuniforms.com,” Joe added.

And Joe was delighted when some of the stars from Emmerdale – including Charity Dingle [Emma Atkins] and Bob Hope [Tony Audenshaw] as well as Vicar Charles [Kevin Mathurin] – sent back some goodie bags and autographed photos as a token of their appreciation for the Inishowen-made clothing.

“They sent us a lot of signed memorabilia, as they were delighted with the shirts,” said Joe.

Speaking about his former clients, Joe reveals how Sinead O‘Connor would regularly phone in her orders and was “really down-to-earth”, while the Rev Paisley used to have custom shirts made after discovering the Moville Clothing brand online.

And there’s even some suggestion that global icon Jennifer Lopez could be the next superstar to model bespoke fashion from Moville Clothing & Uniforms, which delivers worldwide.

“There is an order from a Jennifer Lopez! We’re not 100 per cent sure it’s THE Jaylo, but we can’t be 100 per cent certain that it isn’t either!” smiles Joe.
