Buncrana's new 'Billy Goat' street cleaner will be deployed from today.
After a few test runs, the cleaner will be available solely for the town and will be available seven days a week if needed, Buncrana-based councillor Jack Murray posted.

"I was delighted to call with Fionan Bradley and Joy Beard to see it this week, and was impressed by it," Cllr Murray said. "This is not to replace street sweeps but will be a significant help in cleaning leaves, cigarette butts, broken glass etc.
"Tur Tidy Towns Committee has delivered 10 gold medals in a row and they were just two points behind the national winners last year. Victory is within touching distance. Given the support they deserve from the local authority, assisted by our town gardener, George McDermott and his team, I have no doubt that the national Tidy Towns title will be in Buncrana very soon. No less than those incredible volunteers deserve."
