Donegal County Council honoured Inishowen GAA club Burt at a Civic Reception at the County House, Lifford.
The club was recognised for their achievement in winning 16 Donegal Senior Hurling championship titles in a row from 1991 to 2006.

The ceremony was presided over by Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council, Cllr Paul Canning, Chief Executive John G McLaughlin, and the MC for the evening was Mr Bryan Cannon, Director of Roads & Transportation.
Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council, Cllr Paul Canning, was delighted to host this Civic Reception, acknowledging that: “It is with great pride that I stand here today representing this Council to recognise the remarkable accomplishments of Burt GAA Club winning 16 Donegal Senior Hurling championship titles in a row from 1991 to 2006. I am sure that this is an incredibly special day for the players, both past and present, the managers, coaches, everybody associated with the club and all their family members.”
The Chief Executive of Donegal County Council, John G McLaughlin, said: “As Chief Executive of Donegal County Council, I extend my deepest gratitude to those individuals, managers and coaches through their passion and expertise that have nurtured players into champions. Your commitment to their growth and development has brought pride to your club and has inspired countless others to join the club over the years to participate in the Gaelic games.
The club was presented with a specially engraved piece along with an official scroll marking the occasion of the Civic Reception. Birt GAA thanked the Council for honouring them in this way, and attendees were treated to refreshments after the event in the Lifford Old Courthouse.
