Three Donegal hotels in the running for prestigious national honours

McGrory's Hotel in Culdaff has been nominated in three categories.

The finalists for this year's highly anticipated Gold Medal Hotel Awards have been announced, and there are a few Donegal contenders in the running for prestigious honours.

Now in their 36th year, the Gold Medal Hotel Awards are recognised as the leading independent awards programme for the Irish hospitality industry.

After careful consideration and evaluation by an esteemed panel of judges, a select group of outstanding organisations, which have shown exemplary dedication and excellence in the hospitality industry, has been chosen.

This year's Awards have been more competitive than ever, with over 1,000 impressive entries nationally across 32 categories. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony finale on the 27th of January 2026 at The Galmont Hotel and Spa in Galway.

There are three Donegal contenders in total: Harvey’s Point, Lough Eske Castle and McGrory’s.

Harvey’s Point Hotel is up for awards in six different categories, including Ireland’s Hotel Breakfast; Ireland’s Fine Dining Hotel Restaurant; Ireland’s Front of House Team/Team Member; Ireland’s Guest Experience; Ireland's Grand Wedding Hotel; and Ireland’s Wine Experience.

Lough Eske Castle is in the running in four separate categories, including Ireland's Five Star Afternoon Tea Hotel; Ireland’s Five Star Hotel Spa Experience; Ireland's Castle and Heritage Wedding Excellence; and Ireland’s Five Star Guest Experience.

Meanwhile, McGrory’s Hotel in Culdaff has been nominated in three categories, including Ireland’s County/Guest House Experience; Ireland's Best Family Run Hotel Group and Ireland’s Three Star Hotel.
