Members of the Inish Theatre Group performed Christmas carols for residents of the Buncrana Nursing Unit.
Inish Theatre Group returned to Buncrana Nursing Unit on Saturday afternoon, December 20, for its annual Christmas carol service, spreading festive joy to residents and staff for the second consecutive year.
The event was described as “deeply rewarding,” with residents singing along to every song. Many members personally know residents in the community hospital, making the visit especially meaningful for the performers and audience alike.
“Inish Theatre Group is built on community spirit and giving back. This Christmas, we wanted once again to share music, warmth, and connection with our local nursing home,” a spokesperson said.
The afternoon also offered valuable moments for younger members, who showed great kindness and friendliness while entertaining elderly and unwell residents.
The group believes strongly in the importance of nurturing empathy and community values in its younger performers, and the experience proved uplifting for all generations involved.

President Stephen Callaghan led a lively line dance that lifted spirits and got the room moving. Stephen embraces the inclusive spirit of Inish Theatre Group, and the group wishes to give him special recognition for the joy, energy, and leadership he brings to every event.
Several members also performed solo pieces, showcasing local talent and creating treasured festive memories.
Following a busy season, group members will now take a well-deserved rest before returning in January to begin full rehearsals for the upcoming production of Beauty and the Beast, which will run from 1st–7th March, 2026, with tickets on sale from mid-January.
