Moville Tidy Towns members Liz Hunter and Marian McDonald are presented with a gold medal by Minister Dara Calleary and Maighread Cremin, Community Sponsorship Manager with SuperValu.
The Moville Tidy Towns association has announced details of its annual Spring Clean, set to take place on Saturday, April 11, as it continues its efforts to build on recent national success.
Volunteers from across the community are being encouraged to get involved, with participants asked to gather at the Moville Shorefront car park from 10am to 12pm.
Gloves and litter pickers will be provided on the day, making it easy for individuals, community groups and local clubs to take part in the clean-up initiative.
The event comes on the back of a landmark achievement for the group. Representatives Marian McDonald and Liz Hunter recently attended the SuperValu Tidy Towns Awards 2025 ceremony in Carrick-on-Shannon, where they officially collected Moville’s first-ever gold award.

The presentation was made by Minister Dara Calleary, marking a significant milestone for the town and recognising years of dedication by local volunteers.
Buoyed by this success, the group is now aiming to retain its gold status in 2026. A spokesperson said they are encouraging all households and businesses in the area to play their part by maintaining their properties and contributing to the town’s overall appearance.
With strong community participation expected, organisers hope this year’s Spring Clean will be another step towards securing back-to-back gold medals for Moville.
