Clonmany Tug of War Club presented a cheque for a total of €1,307.54 to Lifeline Inishowen last Wednesday evening, April 15, following the success of their recent Good Friday tug of war competition.
The event, held on April 3rd in Clonmany Youth Centre, brought together teams and supporters from across the county for an evening of competitive spirit and community generosity.
All proceeds raised on the night were donated to Lifeline Inishowen, supporting the organisation’s ongoing work within the local community.
The competition featured several weight categories, including 5-a-side 450kg, 5-a-side 375kg, and a ladies' 5-a-side 400kg, along with a novice competition that encouraged new participants to get involved.
In a strong showing on the night, Carndonagh Youths claimed victory in both the 450kg and 375kg categories. Clonmany secured second place in the 450kg competition, while Kinletter A finished second in the 375kg.
Kinletter also impressed in the novice 450kg category, taking first place ahead of the Clonmany women’s team. The Clonmany women later went on to claim first place in the novice 375kg, with Kinletter B finishing as runners-up.
