Clonmany residents are being encouraged to lace up their walking shoes in a special Sunrise Walk, a family-friendly event aimed at raising vital funds for the Lough Swilly RNLI.
Set against the stunning scenery of the Inishowen coastline, participants will gather at Binion Beach Car Park at 4:00am, ahead of the walk beginning at 4:15am this Saturday, May 9th. The event promises a memorable start to the day, as walkers take in breathtaking sunrise views while supporting a cause that saves lives at sea.
Organisers are encouraging people of all ages to attend, making it a perfect outing for families, friends, and community groups. A marquee will be set up at the car park to provide shelter, and refreshments will be available after the walk.
The fundraiser highlights the essential work carried out by the Lough Swilly RNLI volunteers. While crew members generously give their time for free, the service relies heavily on public donations to cover the costs of training, maintaining lifeboats, and ensuring vital rescue equipment is always ready.
The Clonmany Sunrise Walk is shaping up to be a meaningful and uplifting community event similar to last year's walk, which raised vital funds for Clonmany Community First Responders.
Anyone who cannot take part in the walk but would still like to contribute can make a donation using the donation buckets available at Centra Clonmany, the Post Office Clonmany, Brennans Chemist, and Williams Butchers.
