Carndonagh-based cleaning business continues European expansion

‘Northwest Cleaning Services’ rebrands as ‘Northwest Hygiene’
One of Inishowen’s best-known companies, Carndonagh-based Northwest Cleaning Services, launched an exciting rebrand, announcing a new trading name, Northwest Hygiene, reflecting the company’s continued expansion into the European market.
The Inishowen Independent visited the firm’s Donegal headquarters at Pound Street Business Park recently and met up with owner Kevin Gallagher as himself and operations manager John Keyes liaised with local staff as they embarked on the day’s schedule.
Well pleased with the new shop and fleet signage, Kevin explains the rationale behind the rebrand.
“It reflects the continued growth and development of our business and better represents the specialist cleaning and hygiene services we provide across a range of industries, including the rapidly expanding data centre sector throughout Europe,” he says.
From humble beginnings a decade ago, Gallagher’s business has evolved into a specialist cleaning service for industrial premises, commercial and retail, construction and data centres. In addition to being one of the best-known cleaning companies across Ireland, some 80% of the firm’s work is now carried out on mainland Europe. It’s a remarkable feat by a business with its roots firmly established in Inishowen.
“The rebrand is really for the benefit of the European arm of our operation,” explains Kevin. “The word ‘hygiene’ better reflects what we do in Europe than the old name. The business has evolved from a one-man show to a staff of over 90, and this rebrand dovetails with that.”
Customers of the former Northwest Cleaning Services can expect the exact same level of service from Northwest Hygiene?
“Absolutely,” says Kevin, “While our name and visual identity are evolving, there is no change to the ownership, management, personnel, or services you currently receive. Your existing contacts will remain the same, and we will continue to deliver the high standards of service and support that you have come to expect from us.”
“The transition to our new brand will be gradual,” adds operations manager John Keyes, “over the coming months you will begin to see the Northwest Hygiene name appear across our vehicles, uniforms, documentation, website, and other company materials.”
“This rebrand marks an exciting new chapter in our company’s journey and positions us strongly for future growth, while remaining firmly committed to the values, reliability, and quality that have helped us build lasting relationships with clients.”
As the Inishowen Independent took its leave, Kevin Gallagher had one last message as he watched the last of his vans pull out of Pound Street en route to a client: “I’m very thankful to my wife Laura for her support and to all our staff. It goes without saying that without their support and professionalism, Northwest Hygiene would not be the success story it has become.”
“I would also like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all our many clients for their continued trust and support. I look forward to continuing to work with them under our new identity as Northwest Hygiene.”
