The goal is to recruit people to help weave One Million Stars in Ireland by 2032 which will help form the global target of One Billion Stars
Women’s Collective Ireland - Donegal (WCI) and Lifeline Inishowen are hosting a One Million Stars project workshop to end gender-based violence.
The workshop is taking place on November 30 from 7 - 9 pm in the Carndonagh Lifeline Office. WCI is a charitable non-profit organisation that promotes women’s rights and equality. Lifeline is a domestic abuse non-profit organisation providing services for those affected by violence.
The One Million Stars Ireland Star Weavers to End Violence is an awareness-raising project to end violence against women and girls and create a safer violence-free future for all.
The workshop creates an opportunity for people to learn how to weave the stars, a beautifully mindful activity while also creating a safe space to talk about domestic and gender-based violence.
Each eight-point star woven represents light, hope and solidarity against violence, promoting the project’s eight points of healthy love within relationships.
The project aims to recruit people to help weave One Million Stars in Ireland by 2032 which helps form the global target of One billion. It is free to participate in the project but spaces are limited so if you would like to join please sign up to attend here or text WCI Donegal on 085-8638419.
