The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, has made a visit to Inishowen and included one of the peninsula’s favourite eateries on her itinerary.
The author and philanthropist enjoyed a meal at Nancy's Barn in Ballyliffin where she was welcomed by owner and chef Kieran Doherty and his team.

The restaurant, which is known for its award-winning chowder, served up a Donegal-inspired menu to the duchess and her entourage.
“A very special occasion for myself and our staff, and having a full house of guests who enjoyed their time in the presence of a great humanitarian for many people and communities in need of charity and a voice across the globe,” Kieran said.
“The duchess was very gracious with her time with the crowd of well-wishers, and we loved having her here sharing her stories and giving her a well-deserved, amazing Inishowen, Irish welcome.”
