As anticipation builds for the Donegal International Rally this weekend, a ‘Women in Motorsport & Road Safety' event helped to kick off proceedings in Letterkenny.
The event took place at the Letterkenny Garda Station today.
An Garda Síochána Donegal shared: “We had a fantastic time at the 'Women in Motorsport & Road Safety' event at Letterkenny Garda Station today.
“Thank you to everybody who came along to see the new Rally 2 Toyota Yaris that will be competing this weekend and to meet the team! Our #OperationNexus VW Golf was also at the event. Thank you also to everyone who was involved in making the event such a success!
“There really are so many amazing opportunities available for women in the world of motorsports. Please have a look at the Women in Motorsport Ireland page for details.”
Gardaí also reminded the public of the Keep The Race In Its Place campaign which is being rolled out this weekend.

“Our advice in relation to traffic management and safety is: plan your journey and arrive in plenty of time as there will be road closures over the weekend and high volumes of traffic are anticipated; follow advice and guidance from Gardaí and race marshals; remember to belt up, put the mobile phone away and never ever drink or take drugs and drive; watch the rally from the designated safe viewing areas,” a Garda spokesperson said.
