Topshop is set to make its Irish return with a store opening in Donegal.
The store will open in McElhinneys, Ballybofey, on August 21. This is the first physical store to open in Ireland since the retailer closed its doors five years ago. Before closure, there were 8 stores open in Ireland.
"We’re very passionate about our company, so to get them reaching out to us is amazing,” McElhinney's general manager Sandra Devenney told RTÉ. “We may be in Donegal, but we work very hard and are known around the country, so for us to get Topshop is just another thing for us to be excited about in the future."
The Donegal branch is one of three European locations with stores also opening in Denmark and France. Topshop was acquired by ASOS in 2021 from the Arcadia Group. Topman, Miss Selfridge, and HIIT brands were also acquired by the online retailer for around €300 million.
