Presidential candidate Gavin meets Donegal's '92 All-Ireland winning captain Molloy

Former Dublin GAA manager Jim Gavin was in Donegal last week, where he met Donegal's 1992 All-Ireland winning captain Anthony Molloy at Michael Murphy Sports in Letterkenny.

Murphy was Donegal skipper as they lifted Sam Maguire again in 2012 and was part of the side managed by Jim McGuinness, who inflicted Gavin's only championship loss in seven seasons in the 2014 All-Ireland SFC semi-final.

Bar that, Gavin led Dublin to All-Ireland titles in 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 and has been outlining his plans for the presidency in the aftermath of his selection as the Fianna Fáil candidate.

"I was delighted to welcome Jim Gavin to Letterkenny last week while on his campaign trail for the Presidency, now that he’s been selected, I want to take this opportunity to wish him every success throughout this election campaign," Fianna Fáil councillor Ciaran Brogan, Cathaoirleach of Letterkenny-Milford Municipal District, posted.
