Animals in Need Donegal rescues newborn premature kittens

AIN rescued six newborn kittens that were rejected by their mother.

Sadly, one kitten had already passed away, but the remaining five kittens were brought to AIN, where a fosterer who is an expert in hand-rearing small kittens took them into her care. In addition to being newborn, the kittens were also premature, with some weighing only 50 grams, instead of the average newborn weight of 80-90 grams.

Unfortunately, two more kittens passed away during the first night, but the remaining three kittens are strong and are rapidly putting on weight, now weighing 80, 82 and 86 grams.
