The Milford Events Committee is gearing up for the festive season

The newly formed Milford Events Committee marked a successful first meeting on Sunday, October 13, with 18 enthusiastic members ready to bring festive cheer to the town.

The committee is now hard at work planning this year’s Christmas Lights Switch-On, set for Sunday, November 30, promising a fun-filled family day.

Festivities will include a craft fair in the Parochial Hall, a Christmas procession led by local schoolchildren, and the highlight - the switching on of the Christmas lights with Santa. Families can then enjoy hot chocolate and mulled wine while celebrating together in the town’s festive glow.

In the lead-up to the event, the committee has organised several fundraising activities to support these community celebrations.

A car wash fundraiser will take place on Saturday, October 25, from 10am until 3pm at the Milford Presbyterian Church Car Park.

Hosted by the Travellers Inn, a Pub Quiz and “Baubles and Bubbles” Night is also on the way, promising fun and community spirit.

The committee invites residents to get involved, support the initiatives, and help make this festive season in Milford truly memorable. For updates and details, follow the Milford & District Resource Centre (MDRC) Facebook page.
