Donegal Youth Service to brew up success with new 'Youth Employability Cafe'

Donegal Youth Service is launching its Youth Employability Cafe to guide young people when it comes to employment, education or training

Donegal Youth Service (DYS) is opening doors for young people with the launch of its exciting new pilot initiative, the Youth Employability Café.

This innovative space at DYS in Letterkenny is designed to be relaxed, welcoming, and youth-friendly, offering on-the-spot career support that meets young people where they are. Designed as a relaxed, friendly space, the Cafe offers essential, on-the-spot support to help young people to take the critical next step into employment, education, or training.

Run by the expert Youth Information Centre (YIC) and Targeted Youth Employability Support Initiative (TYESI) teams, this event is a dedicated drop-in for those uncertain or unsure about how to shape their future.

On Friday, November 7, the The Loft Drop-In will transform into a hub of career support, open exclusively to young people aged 15 to 24 who are currently not in employment, education, or training (NEET).

From 9:30am to 12pm, attendees can 'order' help and support with key areas, including CV MOT: Professional reviews and help writing a winning CV.

Future Finder: Skills and careers assessment to help pinpoint the right path. Job and Course Hunting: Tips and resources for finding suitable roles or programmes. Interview Practice: Coaching on how to ace your next interview. Plus, TYESI and YIC Services: Full information on the ongoing, free support and training available to young people.

Young people who attend can work together and exchange tips and ideas on how they can progress in a more positive way then before and get the job or course that fits in with what they want.

And yes - it is a cafe, but one with free coffee and refreshments which will be served to keep the morning productive and relaxed.

Katarzyna Kurzeja, Youth Information Officer (YIC), said: "We know navigating the next steps can be tough. The Youth Employability Cafe removes the formality and stress - just drop in, grab a coffee, and our team will get you started with practical advice right away. No appointment is needed!"
