FinTrU and ATU Sport Donegal renew partnership until 2028

FinTrU and ATU Sport Donegal have renewed a three-year deal, which will carry the partnership until 2028.

In 2022, FinTrU Letterkenny were based in offices at CoLab with a handful of employees, while ATU Sport Donegal had nine teams representing the university. Today, FinTrU Letterkenny employs over 100 staff at its Windyhall site, while ATU Sport Donegal has doubled its offering to students.

ATU Donegal Head of Sport, Michael Murphy, said: "As of 2025, we have 19 teams available to our ATU Donegal students. Our sponsorship with FinTrU has greatly assisted us to develop the number of teams over the last few years, and we hope to keep expanding our competitive sports teams with another two each year."

The expansion is already underway with three new teams in 2025: a competitive Women’s Volleyball team, a second Men’s Development Soccer team, and an ATU Donegal Golf Team.

FinTrU Ireland Site Lead, Sylvester Clancy, said: “While technology-enabled CLM solutions is a world away from sport, FinTrU and ATU Sport Donegal both share the same goal of creating the best possible opportunities for students living in the Donegal area.

“The FinTrU sponsorship also includes two sports scholarships for ATU Donegal students.”
