Concerns have also been raised that road widening may require significant engineering works
Residents in Milford have raised serious safety concerns over a proposal to route access for a new apartment development through the Moyle View housing estate.
While the application was previously noted when planning was first sought, locals say the implications for road safety are now becoming clearer as objections mount. The proposed access would direct construction and long-term traffic through a steep residential cul-de-sac, feeding onto already busy junctions at the top of the estate and onto Moyle Road.

Residents point to the hill’s history of vehicles losing control in icy conditions, with cars having mounted the footpath in the past. They warn that additional traffic would increase risks for children, elderly residents, and people with disabilities living in the area.
Concerns have also been raised that road widening may require significant engineering works, including a retaining wall behind council cottages occupied by older residents.
More than 17 objections have now been lodged with Donegal County Council, with residents insisting that alternative access options exist which would avoid using a residential estate.
