A free family training session on dementia is set to take place in Letterkenny later this month, offering practical guidance and support to those caring for a loved one with the condition.
The training, organised through the HSE, is aimed at family members, relatives and friends who are supporting someone with a diagnosis of dementia. It will focus on building understanding around the different types of dementia and the various stages of the illness, as well as exploring how a person with dementia may experience and respond to the world around them.
A key element of the session will be communication, with attendees learning effective and compassionate ways to engage with and support someone living with dementia in everyday situations.
The training will take place on Wednesday, January 22, at Cara House in Letterkenny, running from 6.30pm to 8pm. While the session is free to attend, booking is essential due to limited places.
Anyone seeking further information or wishing to reserve a place is asked to contact Diane Donnelly on 087 277 0103.
