There are 558 patients in total on trolleys in hospitals nationwide today, according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO)
Thirty-four patients are waiting for a bed in Letterkenny University Hospital this morning, Tuesday.
Out of the patients waiting, there are 11 on trolleys in the Emergency Department, and 23 elsewhere in the hospital.
Letterkenny University Hospital is currently the fifth most overcrowded hospital in the country.

Letterkenny is behind University Hospital Limerick with 128 patients on trolleys, Mater Misericordiae University Hospital with 43, and Mayo University Hospital with 36. Sligo University Hospital is the fourth most overcrowded, with 35 people waiting for a bed.
