Letterkenny Rovers captain Ronan Curran accepts the Kieran McGrath Memorial Shield on behalf of his team
Letterkenny Rovers came out on top against Oldtown FC on an afternoon of remembrance and charity.
The two sides met at Leckview Park in memory of Kieran McGrath with Stephen McConnell’s Letterkenny team coming out winners on a 4-1 scoreline. All monies raised are to be divided between Pieta and Sheephaven Search & Recovery.
Kieran, who was PRO of Letterkenny Rovers and was also involved in the administration of the Donegal Youth League and the Ulster Senior League, sadly passed away earlier this year.
The Kieran McGrath Memorial Shield was presented on behalf of the McGrath family by Kieran’s brother Liam to Letterkenny’s captain Ronan Curran afterward.
Oldtown, who were captained by Kieran’s nephew Kevin, opened the scoring through Sean Cleary, with Letterkenny’s goals coming from Gareth Doherty, Dean McCarry, Curran and Darragh Morrison.
