Court appearance imminent for duo following Glencar thefts

Two women have been arrested and have been charged to appear in court following shoplifting incidents at Circular Road, Letterkenny.

Last week gardaí appealed concerning the thefts that occurred on Sunday, January 28 where the two women entered a shop and proceeded to fill a trolley load of goods before leaving without paying for them.

“We issued an appeal last week in relation to a shoplifting incident at a shop on the circular Road, Letterkenny, which received significant social media attention,” Sergeant Eunan Walsh said.

“Gardaí have since arrested two females and they have been charged to appear in Court. We would like to thank anybody who assisted in any way with the investigation.”

In a separate shoplifting incident, “for public information a male in his thirties is also being kept in custody in Letterkenny about several thefts in the Letterkenny area in the last few weeks," Sergeant Walsh added.

“He has been charged and brought to court, again in relation to solving these crimes, here we received information from the shop owners and witnesses so we urge the public to be vigilant, follow crime prevention advice and always report suspicious activity.”
