MEP Chris MacManus visits Errigal College for Europe Direct Letterkenny event

Sinn Féin MEP Chris MacManus recently visited Europe Direct Letterkenny alongside Sinn Féin local election candidate Sandra Haughey to talk to TY students from Errigal College in Letterkenny about the upcoming EU elections.

The students asked lots of questions and MEP MacManus covered many topics including the importance of voting in the upcoming EU elections and the necessity for all young people in Ireland to register to vote.



MEP MacManus’s presentation outlined the EU’s role in developing policy in areas such as consumer rights, agriculture, data protection and the right to cash. He also spoke about the EU legislative process and his work on topics such as the Digital Euro project and the Renewable Energy directive.

MacManus thanked Mr Evan Gorrell and Errigal College for their wonderful participation on the day and Kevin McCaul and his team at Europe Direct Letterkenny for hosting a fantastic event.
