New Alpha and Beta building work gets underway on Letterkenny's Port Road

Work has begun on Letterkenny's Port Road

Work is underway on the old ESB site on Letterkenny’s Port Road.

The site will see the new project of the construction of the first phase of the New Alpha and Beta buildings.

The Alpha will be a digital innovation centre with a strong innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystem enabling businesses, both start-ups and existing, to scale, internationalise and respond effectively to emerging market opportunities and challenges.

The Alpha Innovation Centre will provide a state-of-the-art innovative workspace for new start-ups and existing businesses with the aim of building a dynamic innovative ecosystem where both new and existing businesses will have the opportunity to operate their day-to-day business activities, network, and collaborate.

It will be a space to share ideas and explore and develop the potential of new ideas into viable and scalable propositions, contributing to greater resilience in the enterprise base and economic growth in the region.

“This project when completed will see opportunities of employing 400 to 500 people and will also create more footfall in this side of our town which should have a knock-on effect and boost already established businesses in this part of town,” local councillor Donal Mandy Kelly posted.

“It's fantastic to see diggers on the ground getting this project underway for Letterkenny Town and the Nort West Region.”
