The Donegal Volunteer Centre has recognised the contribution of those who bring plenty of festive cheer.

Kathy O'Connor established the annual Christmas Day Dinner at Conwal Parish Hall, Letterkenny in 2005 to help tackle isolation and loneliness. Since then, she and her team have devoted her time and effort to ensure no one goes without on those special days.

Kathy, along with some volunteers Karen Anderson, Pauline Moyles Robinson and Raymond Holmes, were presented with a Donegal Volunteer Centre badge and a local art print.

"We are delighted to recognise the remarkable milestone achieved by Kathy O’Connor - 20 years serving Christmas and New Year’s Day dinners to those in need," the Donegal Volunteer Centre via Donegal DLDC posted.

Donegal Volunteer Centre Manager Eamonn Bonner praised Kathy and her team’s dedication. He highlighted how much of what they do is often unseen.
