Towns which were found to have had low median gross household income included Carndonagh, Bundoran, Ballyshannon, Buncrana, and Convoy, all totalling figures at less than €40,000.

Data released this week revealed that Donegal's median net household income in 2022 was €42,497.

Other counties that had median gross household income in 2022 under €50,000 included Mayo, Kerry, Longford, and Leitrim.

Donegal’s median gross household income was more than €17,000 less than the national average, reaching €60,123.
