Donegal’s Foy & Company celebrating ‘milestone’ of 45 years in business

This year marks 45 years since Liam and Ann Foy opened their first store on Main Street in Ballybofey.

Then, a state-of-the-art showroom in Letterkenny, the family-owned Foy & Company is celebrating this 45-year milestone with the opening of their third retail store, Foy’s Interiors, and their first in Northern Ireland, at Enniskillen’s Lakelands Retail Park.

From humble beginnings, Liam and Ann built Foy & Company into one of Ireland’s most respected destinations for paint, home furnishings, curtains, household items, gifts, and interior design advice.

Their vision grew into a spacious two-storey Ballybofey store and a 1,500 sq m Letterkenny showroom, cementing the company’s reputation for quality, expertise, and personal service throughout Ireland. The Enniskillen store represents not only the company’s first expansion beyond Donegal but also a continuation of Liam’s dream and legacy.

"Over the past 45 years, our incredible staff and loyal customers have been at the heart of everything we do,” Ann Foy said. “This milestone is as much a celebration of Liam’s vision as it is of our family’s and staff’s dedication and the trust and loyalty of generations of people who have supported us along the way.”

Reflecting on the 45-year journey, David Foy said: "When my parents first opened the doors in Ballybofey, we never imagined the journey ahead. My father’s passion for people and homes set the foundation for everything we do. While we deeply miss him, seeing our family business expand beyond Donegal is a proud moment that we know he would have cherished.”

"Opening our first store in Northern Ireland is a very special moment for our family. We’re excited to bring our carefully curated range of premium paint, furniture, curtains, fabrics, and bespoke interior design services to a new community.

“Our Enniskillen team shares our passion for helping customers create beautiful homes, and we are delighted to now welcome them through the doors.”

The Ballybofey, Letterkenny, and Enniskillen stores offer a carefully selected range of products you won’t find anywhere else, exclusive to Foy’s, including paint and wallpaper from leading Irish and international suppliers, fabrics, curtains and blinds, and furniture and soft furnishings designed for comfort, style, and durability.

Foy & Company, along with Foy’s Interiors, continues to provide personalised free in-store interior design services, helping both residential and commercial customers bring their vision to life.

"We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved over the past 45 years," said Ann and David together. "This expansion reflects our family values, our commitment to quality, and our dedication to serving communities with care and expertise. Most of all, it’s a tribute to Liam, whose passion, vision, and hard work made all of this possible. Here’s to the next 45 years!"
