Niamh Kennedy and Jimmy Brogan exceeded the quota on the 11th count

Local Elections: All seats filled in Donegal LEA as count draws to a close

All six seats have been filled in the Donegal LEA, with Returning officer Tanya Kee announcing the results at 00.35am on Monday morning.

Cllr Micheál Naughton (FF) and Cllr Noel Jordan (SF) had already been elected. 

Following the transfer of Cllr Jordan's surplus, the results of the 11th count saw the remaining seats filled.

Cllr Niamh Kennedy (Ind) finished third with 2,067 seats, followed by newcomer Jimmy Brogan (Ind) on 2,059.

Two other candidates were elected without exceeding the quota - Cllr Michael McMahon (SF) with 1,931 and newcomer Manus Boyle (FG) on 1,751.

Barry Sweeny (FG) lost out in the final count.
