At a glance: Here's the make-up of the new Donegal County Council

Following the local elections that took place over the weekend, Donegal has its 37 councillors to bring the county forward in the next five years

Donegal LEA

Cllr Micheál Naughton of Fianna Fáil topped the poll, elected until the eighth count, surpassing the quota of 1,985 in the six-seater.
On Count 10, Cllr Noel Jordan of Sinn Féin exceeded the quota and then, Cllr Niamh Kennedy, Independent, who transferred strongly and was the third candidate to be elected in Count 11. Also exceeding the quota in Count 11 was newcomer Jimmy Brogan, Independent. It was a good day for Sinn Féin in the Donegal LEA, with Cllr Michael McMahon retaining his seat before Fine Gael newcomer Manus Boyle claimed the final seat.
