At a glance: Here's the make-up of the new Donegal County Council

Following the local elections that took place over the weekend, Donegal has its 37 councillors to bring the county forward in the next five years

Lifford-Stranorlar LEA

Independent candidate, Martin Scanlon, was hoisted on bulging Glenfin shoulders after he topped the poll to be elected on the fifth count in the Lifford-Stranorlar area on Sunday. He was followed by Gary Doherty of Sinn Féin, Frank McBrearty, Independent, and Fine Gael's Martin Harley, before Patrick McGowan of Fianna Fáil and newcomer, Sinn Féin's Dakota Nic Mheanman, took the final two of the six seats in the Lifford-Stranorlar LEA.
