There has been more overnight snow across most parts of Donegal leading to dangerous driving conditions and more school closures this morning.
Met Éireann has issued a snow and ice warning for Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim and that warning remains in place until 9am this morning.
Once again motorists are urged to take extreme caution with reports of dangerous conditions on untreated roads.
For the second day in a row, schools and services have been disrupted and a number of schools are to remain closed today.
They include Abbey Vocational School in Donegal Town and Coláiste na Carraige in Carrick.
In Letterkenny, the following schools are among those that will remain closed today: Woodlands NS, Scoil Mhuire gan Smal, Lurgybrack NS, Ballyraine NS, Educate Together NS, Gaelscoil Adhamhnain, St Eunan’s College, Scoil Cholmcille NS and Loreto Secondary School.
Other schools around the county that will close today include Glenmaquinn NS, Scoil Naomh Brid, Muff, Carndonagh CS, Crana College, Moville Community College, Kerrykeel NS, Kilmacrennan NS, Loreto Milford, Mulroy College, Glenswilly NS, Deele College, Raphoe Royal and Prior, St Columba’s College, Stranorlar, Finn Valley College and Niall Mor NS, Killybegs.
Parents should check with their school’s social media updates if in any doubt about their own school.
Bus services have also been hit by the bad weather with McGettigan Travel, Michael Friel Coaches and Kia Kabs (Local Link services) among those that will not be operating today
