Stranorlar college scoops senior overall award at 9th annual PExpo

A Stranorlar school has won the senior overall award at the 9th annual PExpo, held in DCU, Dublin this week.

Aisling Mullen and Katie Dowds from St Columba’s College took the top senior prize for their project called Mind Over Matter.

The winners were awarded their prizes by Dare to Believe Olympic ambassadors Aifric Keogh and Marcus Lawler.

Winning the top prize in the STEM category was Jara Shaufler from Moville Community College for a project called Proteins are not Alike.

Another Donegal schools featuring at PExpo ’23 was Loreto Milford with well over a dozen projects submitted.

A record number of students from schools over the country took part in the exhibition, designed to test students’ knowledge of sport, fitness and well-being.

Prizes were awarded in special categories as well as under under a number of headings. The tenth PExpo will take place in March 2024.
