Seamus Gillespie, Ballybofey

The death has occurred of Seamus Gillespie, Sessiaghoneill, Ballybofey. Peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of 70 years of Kathleen, and much loved father to Jimmy (Denise), Kevin, (Eva), Kathy (Chris), Michael (Catherine), cherished grandfather to Conor, Zara, Holly, Zoe, Molly, Jenny, Mark, and the late David, great grandfather to Ethan, Zach, Ellen and Ted.

Predeceased by his father and mother William and Fanny, brothers and sisters Madeline, Brigid, Patrick, Peggy, Sean, Mickey, Bill, Anthony, Francess, Annie, Mary, Hughie, and Tommy. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his wife, sons, daughter, grandchildren, great grandchildren, daughters in law, son in law, brother in law Bernard (Cappry), sister in law Mary (New York), extended family and friends.

Remains reposing at Mc Cool’s Funeral Home with visiting time on Sunday April 30 from 6pm until 9pm and on Monday May 1 from 5pm until rosary at 9pm. Funeral leaving from there on Tuesday May 2, at 10.30am for Requiem Mass at 11am in St. Mary’s Church, Sessiaghoneill. Interment afterwards in the adjoining churchyard. The Requiem Mass will be streamed live via the Parish facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/StMarysSessiaghoneill

Donations in lieu of flowers, if so desired to St. Joseph’s Patients Comfort Fund, care of any family member.

Daniel Greene (Danny Neidí Frank), Ranafast, Annagry

The death has taken place at his home of Daniel Greene (Danny Neidí Frank) of 40 Ranafast, Annagry. Predeceased by his wife Susie, sisters; Róise, Kathleen & Bríd, brothers; John, Frank, Peadar, Joe, Éamonn & Colm.

Sadly missed by his son Edward, daughter in-law Joanne, grandchildren; Emily, Erin, Róisín, Ian, sister; Geraldine and extended family and friends.

His remains are reposing at his home on Sunday until 8pm. Rosary at 8pm. House private after the rosary and on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church, Annagry on Monday May 1, at 11am, interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The Funeral Mass can be viewed live on Kieran Roarty Funeral Director's Facebook page https://bit.ly/3DoIMm.

Grace McCarroll (née Curran), Letterkenny / Gweedore

The peaceful death has taken place at the Donegal Hospice on Saturday, April 29 2023 of Grace McCarroll, née Curran, 2 Knocknamona Terrace, Letterkenny F92 E3CA and formerly from Magheragallon, Gweedore.

Deeply missed by her loving husband Patrick, son Frankie McCarroll and wife Susan (Raphoe), daughters Eileen McCarroll (Dublin) and Claire and her husband Shane Harkin (Lismonaghan), grandchildren Seán McCarroll and Ava Harkin, brother John Joe Curran (Gweedore), sisters Mary Ferry (Glasgow) and Rosemary Ferry (Gweedore), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours.

Grace is predeceased by her parents Paddy (Jack) and Rosie, brother William Curran, sisters Annie Woods, Margaret (Dolly) Sweeney and Eileen Curran.

Grace’s remains will be reposing at her late residence until 10pm on Sunday April 30 with Rosary at 9pm.

Funeral from there on Monday, May 1 at 10.30am going to the Church of the Irish Martyrs, Ballyraine, Letterkenny for 11am Requiem Mass which can be viewed on the Irish Martyrs YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/@churchoftheirishmartyrs4657.

Interment afterward to Conwal Cemetery. House private on the morning of the funeral please.

Derek Doyle Jnr, College Street, Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of Derek Doyle Jnr, College Street, Ballyshannon.

Suddenly, predeceased by his father Derek, sadly missed by his mother Margaret, his sister Alanna and all extended family and friends.

Frances Crossan (née O'Donnell), Drean, Manorcunningham

The death has occurred of Frances Crossan (née O'Donnell), Drean, Manorcunningham, F92 E2A8.

April 28, 2023, peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital.

Deeply regretted by her loving family, Maria (Gillen), Anastasia (Graham), Paddy, Martina (Collins), Paul, Angela (Lyttle), Seamus, Rosaleen (Gillespie), Siobhan (Doherty), sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends. Predeceased by her husband Seamus.

Remains reposing at her home. Funeral Mass on Monday, May 1, in St Columba’s Church, Drumoghill.

Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family time from 10pm until 11am and on the morning of the funeral.

Kevin Heeney, Cushendall, Antrim / Ardara

The peaceful death has taken place in Antrim Area hospital of Kevin Heeney, Cushendall Co Antrim and Ardara.

Sadly missed by his wife Kathy, his sons Keelan and Feilim, his sister Marie, his mother Kate, Uncle Pat, his extended family, friends and neighbours. Predeceased by his father Pete.

Remains reposing at McCabes Funeral Premises Ardara, on Sunday from 4pm until 6.30pm, with removal from there at 6.45pm, going to the Church of The Holy Family Ardara for 7pm to repose overnight.

Funeral on Monday at 11am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Frank Foy, Wardhouse, Tullaghan, Leitrim

The death has occurred of Frank Foy, Wardhouse, Wardhouse, Tullaghan, Co. Leitrim. April 27 2023, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents Frank and Annie Jane Foy, and brother Tom. Beloved husband of Mary and adored father of Damien, Colette, Des and Geraldine.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, daughters, son-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and all his many relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Breslin's Funeral Home, West End, Bundoran F94E92F, on Sunday evening, April 30, from 5pm to 7pm. Removal from the Family Home on Monday morning, May 1, at 10.30am to arrive at St. Patrick's Church, Tullaghan, for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am, Burial afterwards in St. Aidan's Cemetery, Kinlough.

Bríd Tennyson (née Gallagher), Glasgow / Baltoney, Gortahork 

The death has taken place in Southern General Hospital Glasgow, of Bríd (Hughie John) Tennyson (née Gallagher), Glasgow & formerly of Baltoney, Gortahork,

Pre-deceased by parents Frances and Hughie Gallagher, sisters Mary & Nora, brothers John & Seamus.

Survived by her husband Davie Tennyson, 11 brothers and sisters, daughters; Caroline, Eileen, Maureen, Bernadette, Rosaleen, son David, 18 grandchildren and great grandchild.

Her remains will return to the family home in Fanaboy, for burial in Gortahork at a date to be confirmed.

Michael Murphy, Buncrana

The death has occurred of Michael Murphy, San Francisco and formerly of 10 Marian Park, Buncrana.

Beloved husband of Carol, much-loved daddy of Michelle, Siobhan and Deborah, stepfather of Aaron and Teal and dear brother of Margaret and Charlotte and uncle of Jonathan. He is deeply regretted and will be forever missed by his wife, daughters, stepchildren, grandchildren, sisters, nephew, his extended family, relatives and friends.

His remains will be reposing at the home of his daughter Siobhan, 11, Baile na Carraige, Rockytown, Buncrana from 10am to 10pm on Sunday.

Removal from there on Monday at 10.15am to St Mary's Church, Cockhill for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Requiem Mass can be viewed at www.churchservices.tv/cockhill.

Val Phillips, Drogheda and Letterkenny

The unexpected death has occurred of Val (Edward Valentine) Phillips, late of Letterkenny and formerly of Boyle O’Reilly, Drogheda, County Louth.

Predeceased by his parents Mary Catherine and Peter, brother Brian and daughter-in-law Nicola, he is sadly missed by his daughters Mandy and Catherine, sons Mark and David and their mother Claire, sons-in-law Graham and Noel, daughters-in-law Bernie and Emma, sisters Mary, Hilda, Rosaleen, Bernie, Dolores and Doreen, brother Peter, his 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Townley’s Funeral Home, Crosslanes from 4pm until 7pm on Monday evening. Funeral Mass on Tuesday morning at 11.30am in Our Lady of Lourdes Church which can be viewed on www.saintpetersdrogheda.ie

Burial afterwards in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
