Met Éireann has issued a yellow weather warning for a number of counties including Donegal

Thunderstorm and rainfall warning in place for Donegal

A status yellow warning for thunder and rainfall has been issued by Met Éireann for Donegal. 

Today will start off with dry and sunny weather across the region however that is expected to change, according to the latest from Met Éireann. 

A status yellow warning has been issued for Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Clare, Connacht. The warning remain in place from 1pm this afternoon until 8pm this evening, Sunday.

Pedestrians and drivers are being urged to plan ahead for their journey as many have traveled to the county to attend graveyard Sunday in their locality. Met Éireann say that there is a chance of spot flooding and hail this afternoon. 

Despite the grim weather conditions, temperatures are expected to remain warm at 17 to 20 degrees celsius.

Tonight, showers will continue for a time, but will die out in most areas.
