Great sadness at the passing of well-known Ballybofey lady

The late Mai Deery

There is much sadness in the Twin Towns and surrounding areas at the news of the sad passing yesterday of Mai Deery (née Hannigan), Apartment 2, The Beaches and fomerly of Donegal Road, Ballybofey.

She passed away peacefully at St Joseph's Community Hospital, Stranorlar surrounded by her loving family.

A talented singer in her day, the late Mrs Deery was highly-regarded and a popular member of the community who touched the lives of everyone she knew. She was blessed with a great sense of humour, kindness, talent and above all her caring nature.

Beloved wife of Vivian and much-loved mother of Vivienne, Geraldine, Jude, Adrian, Marcus, Mary, Frances, Daniel, Shane, Rosalind, Rodney, and the late Liam. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving husband, sons, daughters, sons in law, daughters in law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Remains reposing at her late residence from today Thursday, August 3, from 11am Funeral leaving from there on Saturday, August 5, at 10.20am for Requiem Mass in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar at 11am. Cremation afterward in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.

Donations in lieu of flowers, if so desired, to Barnes View Ward, St Joseph’s Community Hospital, care of any family member.
